What a great Saturday we have had so far. First we stopped at the Senior Connection in Hailey (across from Roberta McKercher Park) for their old fashioned ice cream parlor. What a special treat. Single scoop cones (which are mighty big) are only $1. We opted for some of those and split a banana split. Great ice cream in a cool atmosphere.
Then we were off to see the Tortoise and the Hare presented by St. Thomas Playhouse Children's Touring Theatre. We haven't missed a single one their annual performances and always walk away with smiles on our faces. Be sure to check out this FREE event that will delight the whole family.

HAILEY, Idaho -- Police in Hailey are investigating two recent attempts to damage law enforcement vehicles parked at officer's homes in Hailey.
Police chief Jeff Gunter says they have some people they're investigating.
On Dec. 27, someone poured an accelerant on a Blaine County Sheriff's Office sport utility vehicle parked at a deputy's home and set it on fire, causing minor damage.
The next night, two Molotov cocktails were thrown at a Ketchum Police Department SUV. One of the bottles broke a side window.
Blaine County Sheriff Walt Femling tells the Idaho Mountain Express that this is the most serious attack on police vehicles he's seen in his 22 years as sheriff. He says the arson attempts are being taken very seriously because of the potential for them to escalate.

HAILEY, Idaho -- Police in the central Idaho town of Hailey say two marked law enforcement vehicles parked at officers' homes have been vandalized.
Police say that on 9:30 p.m. Monday someone dumped an accelerant on a Blaine County Sheriff's Office Dodge Durango.
Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter tells the Idaho Mountain Express that the vehicle had minor damage, including a melted taillight.
On Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. a marked Ketchum Police Department Chevrolet Suburban was hit with a firebomb that caused a broken side window but no fire damage.
Gunter says someone has a vendetta against police or police cars.
Hailey's police cars are kept at the department's downtown headquarters rather than at officers' homes.
Thank you in advance!

Just a quick reminder for your Monday of a couple things happening this week. First of all, the Ketchum Police Dept. will be holding a bike registration and theft prevention evening at the YMCA on Tuesday (11/16) from 7-9 p.m., and again at the Community Campus in Hailey on Wednesday (11/17) from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Both meetings are intended to give cyclists a chance to register their bike’s serial numbers and also learn more about what we can do to deter would-be bike thieves. The meetings are free and open to the public. If you want to register your bike that evening, please bring your bike(s) or a list of their serial numbers to the meeting. If you don’t have your bikes or know their serial numbers, you can still come to the meeting and pick up the paperwork needed for registration and then just drop it off at the police station at your convenience. We encourage everyone to attend these meetings and do what we can to prevent more bike thefts from happening and increase...

Happy Halloween friends!
The last time Halloween fell on a Sunday, it caused a bit of
hoopla. But this year, Magic Valley citizens and cities aren’t
raising any ghosts of past discussions.
HAILEY — Work will begin next week on a $1.65-million expansion
of Bellevue Elementary School.
If you don't have your Halloween costume yet, Hailey has opened up a new Halloween store next to Yellow Brick Road (where Body Buff once resided). A huge selection of costumes and accessories will await you!
Speaking of Halloween, hope you are ready for one fantastically fun holiday. Once again, Hailey picks up the pace and delivers an excellent Halloween. Trust me, more information to come and all the festivies.
This Friday, Amy will be hosting an Open House in the Zen Den (creative name!!) which is in the basement of the Gateway. The Open House is from 3-5pm.
Since my oldest son takes Soo Bak Do at that time at the same location, this class is mighty tempting for my other kids (and for me!). Kids can never have too much art or movement time.
The Gateway is located at 613 N. River St. in Hailey. For any questions or to register your child, please call Amy at 720-5085
HAILEY, Idaho -- Officials in the central Idaho town of Hailey are beginning the process of deciding how to develop 210 acres that will become available once Friedman Memorial Airport moves to a new location.
Planning is scheduled to begin next week with the goal of producing a master plan that will include zoning designations. Work is expected to be finished by February.
The Idaho Mountain Express reports that City Councilwoman Martha Burke says she spoke with Federal Aviation Administration officials recently, and that zoning for the property will be a public process among Hailey residents.
The FAA says the airport needs to be moved out of the city of Hailey due to safety concerns.

KETCHUM -- A 21-year-old Hailey man has been sentenced to up to five years in prison for a drunken driving crash that injured another motorist.
Justin Ray Allen was sentenced Monday by 5th District Court Judge Robert J. Elgee. The Idaho Mountain Express reports the judge ruled Allen must spent 2 1/2 years in prison on the felony aggravated DUI charge before he is eligible for parole.
Prosecutors say Allen had a blood alcohol level of 0.297 percent on April 11 when he caused a series of crashes on Highway 75 near Ketchum, the last a head-on crash that left a Hailey man with a broken leg and a permanent limp.
Deputy prosecuting attorney Matt Fredback also noted that Allen continued to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana when he was released from jail while the case was pending.
Top GOP and Democrat officials believe the race to become

So, if you are wondering what fun outdoor activity to do with or without the kids tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:15pm, then meander on over to Hailey's Main Street and enjoy a fun and lively parade. Cheer on those Wolverines!

Thanks to the internet and a few amazing wedding folk (more on that in a bit), I decided that I want to get married again---to the same man. This time, I want to get married outdoors in Sun Valley, just like most of the population on this side of the Mississippi. I wouldn't have to buy one single bridal magazine, because I have the whole image in my head, plus a few "friends" (who don't even know me) to help me out.
I know this is a family blog, but in case there are any readers out there who are planning a wedding, let me help you out by telling you what I would do, or who I would follow. I know you are dying to know! But, you have no idea how much I'm dying to tell you. Just be sure to invite you to your outdoor Sun Valley wedding. I would love to attend!
